The ID.5 GTX is the first all-electric SUV coupe. In the high front, the IQ.Light - LED matrix headlights, which generate an intelligently controlled high beam, make the face appear likeable. The light strip tapering towards the Volkswagen logo was combined with three powerful, illuminated honeycomb elements on the driver and front passenger sides. They complement the signature of the low beam and convey the sporty character even when the car is stationary. The gently sloping A-pillars, which are positioned far forward, bring the roof line into an elegant flow - it spans low over the body and ends in an integrated rear spoiler. At the rear, horizontal lines emphasize the width, with the strip of lights catching the eye the most. The LED rear lights in 3D design round off the premium impression.

The abbreviation GTX stands for a new sportiness in the Volkswagen brand. It continues the tradition of the successful GTI, GTD and GTE models and transfers them to the world of electric mobility. An e-machine works on each of the front and rear axles of the ID.5 GTX - the dual-motor all-wheel drive ensures strong driving performance, superior traction and sporty handling. The large lithium-ion battery between the axles enables a predicted range of up to 497 km. When the ID.5 GTX arrives at dealerships next year, it will be the second model from the sporty GTX product brand and will thus give the ACCELERATE strategy a further boost. Volkswagen wants to become the most popular brand for sustainable mobility. The goal is to increase the proportion of purely electric cars in Europe to 70 percent of Volkswagen sales by 2030.
