The Brussels Motor Show provides an impressive setting for the introduction of the “Taylor made N°4 Concept” on the DS Automobiles stand (Hall 5). At the end of the press conference on Friday 9 January, Brand CEO Xavier Peugeot unveiled a bold styling exercise.

Created to celebrate Taylor Barnard joining the DS PENSKE Formula E Team, the “Taylor made N°4 Concept” embodies DS Automobiles’ long-standing commitment to Formula E and accompanies the launch of the DS PERFORMANCE Line Limited Edition, inspired by the DS E-TENSE FE25 single-seater.

Based on the N°4, a strategic model for the Brand, this spectacular and dynamic concept features an imposing “N°4” in the middle of a grille enhanced by a light signature faithful to the production model and headlamps with a pixelated design for a futuristic and high-tech look. Designed to showcase the DS PERFORMANCE Line Limited Edition and emphasize the strength of N°4, it was bespoke-crafted by the designers at DS DESIGN STUDIO using recommendations from the young DS PENSKE Formula E Team driver, Taylor Barnard. This unique model reflects his personality and embodies an assertive and distinctly high-tech style. Its sleek design, optimised for aerodynamics, expresses performance and lightness in a way that’s inspired directly by competition, while its lowered silhouette and wider tracks take cues from the world of video games.

“I dreamt it up, DS Automobiles made it. The N°4 was already my favourite model in the range, so when the brand’s design department presented me with this project, I was both enamoured and honoured. Coming up with a sports car that could be mine every day was an exciting experience. This unique creation is the result of a special collaboration, reflecting the remarkable talent of the women and men from DS Automobiles, who make us dream through their new designs.”

-Taylor Barnard, DS PENSKE driver in ABB FIA Formula E World Championship

To help the teams from DS Automobiles create “his” concept, the young Formula E talent shared his preferences with the Brand’s Colours, Materials and Finishes department. Drawing his inspiration from the worlds of racing and video games, he expressed his taste for the contrast between dark and monochrome shades, enhanced by discreet splashes of colour. These approaches led to the exploration of innovative textures, playing on shades of grey augmented with purple accents.

Like a Formula E team where each expert contributes to the quest for performance, DS Automobiles’ Colours, Materials and Finishes workshops coordinate the finishing touches of the Brand’s designs with the same level of demand and attention to detail.

It is in this spirit that the “Taylor made N°4 Concept” shows four portrayals based on titanium, a light and durable material that’s a symbol of competition and exclusivity:

• Pure Titanium: a raw yet refined paint, embodying the purity of metal and the precision of lines,

• Liquid Titanium: a lacquered paint with intense reflections, creating a subtle contrast with the front of the concept and highlighting the flow of its design,

• Craft Titanium: A crinkled metal-like textile inspired by racing. This innovative material replaces the traditional carbon in the aerodynamic areas (lower bodywork, front splitter and air vent). Covered and crumpled by hand, it highlights the expertise of DS Automobiles’technicians and master upholsterers,

• Black Titanium: a deep and intense black on the roof and spoiler, emphasising the character and radical nature of the concept’s lines.

Because excellence lies in the detail, the Colours, Materials and Finishes department has improved the concept with “Light Gold” touches, DS PERFORMANCE’s identifying colour and the signature of the DS PERFORMANCE Line Limited Edition, on the mirrors, wheel centre caps, embossed bonnet badge and the concept’s signature on the tailgate. Spots in purple, Taylor Barnard’s favourite colour, punctuate the door openers and “Taylor made N°4” side identifiers. Taylor Barnard’s lucky number, 77, is shown subtly on the bonnet badge, the door openers and the lighting integrated into the diffuser.

From the track to the road

“Taylor made N°4 Concept” creates a direct link between the world of competition and production models. For this reason, the concept is on display alongside Taylor Barnard’s DS E-TENSE FE25 single-seater (#77), as well as the DS PERFORMANCE Line Limited Editions.

This DS PERFORMANCE Line Limited Edition, available on DS 3, N°4 and DS 7, illustrates the synergy between the production models and the DS Automobiles team that has been involved in the Formula E World Championship for more than 10 years, in which time the Brand has already won four titles – two Drivers and two Manufacturers.

On the Brussels Motor Show stand, behind the “Taylor made N°4 Concept” and the DS E-TENSE FE25, visitors will be able to see the first public showing of new DS N°4 E-TENSE in the DS PERFORMANCE Line Limited Edition.

N°4’s front, whose vertical LED lights are inspired by the DS E-TENSE PERFORMANCE concept, highlights slender lines and an athletic silhouette. In car, high-quality materials and careful ergonomics provide an intuitive and immersive experience.

N°4 also offers the widest range of electrified powertrains in its segment:

N°4 E-TENSE, a 100% electric version with 213 hp and a range of 450 km WLTP incorporates new features dedicated to electric mobility:

• EV Routing in car, to schedule charging straight from the vehicle,

• Thermal preconditioning of the battery, optimising charging times,

• e-Routes app, to prepare journeys from the comfort of your home,

• e-Remote functions, allowing charging to be controlled remotely.

N°4 is also available as a PLUG-IN HYBRID version, going from 225 hp to 240 hp from 2 February 2026 pricing in order to comply with the GTR21 certified protocol of Euro 7 standards, while maintaining its efficiency and 81 km of range in 100% electric mode.

Lastly, N°4 has a HYBRID version (145 hp), offering up to 1,000 km of range between fill-ups (value calculated on the basis of a 5.2 l/100 km WLTP consumption on the combined cycle) and enabling driving in electric mode for up to 50% of the time in urban and suburban areas.
