Two weeks after the victory at Zolder (BEL) had Walkenhorst Motorsport also in the fourth DTM season round at the Nürburgring (GER) reason to celebrate: Third place in race two went Marco Wittmann (GER) in the # 11 BMW M6 GT3 again on the Podium. In qualifying for race one on Saturday, Wittmann secured a good starting position with third place on the grid. However, the team knew that it would be difficult to achieve a podium position due to the additional weight of 25 kilograms that had to be loaded after the Zolder victory. After 40 laps of the race, Wittmann saw the checkered flag in fifth.

The BMW M Motorsport teams in the DTM Trophy again impressed with a strong performance on the race weekend at the Nürburgring (GER). In Saturday's race, they clinched a double victory for the BMW M4 GT4. The dominant man was Ben Green (GBR) in the # 10 BMW M4 GT4 from FK Performance Motorsport. From pole position, Green took an undisputed start-to-finish victory. Michael Schrey (GER) completed the BMW one- two in the # 2 BMW M4 GT4 from Hofor Racing by Bonk Motorsport in second place.
