For the first time, the Honda HR-V has the self-charging e: HEV hybrid technology, which combines a smooth and pleasant driving experience with direct responsiveness and fuel efficiency. The system comprises two compact and powerful electric motors that are coupled to a 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine. The drive motor develops an output of 96 kW (131 PS) and a maximum torque of 253 Nm at 4,500 rpm. The three drive modes of the e: HEV hybrid technology are automatically selected depending on the prevailing conditions. For the best possible efficiency, the HR-V starts up in electric mode, which seamlessly changes to hybrid mode when higher torque is required. The petrol engine is used when driving at a higher and more constant speed. The combined standard consumption according to WLTP is 5.4 liters per 100 kilometers, which corresponds to CO2 emissions of 122 g / km.
