at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, one of the most distinctive interpretations of the customisation program for the new 33 Stradale was unveiled. The Biscione’s supercar, produced in a strictly limited run of just 33 units and inspired by the legendary 1967 33 Stradale, takes the form of an exclusive creation named ‘Perla Nera®’, a name specifically chosen and registered by its owner. It perfectly conveys the car’s unmistakable full-black identity, derived from the expressive power and material richness of carbon fibre.
Conceived and developed around the vision of its owner, a passionate collector and profound connoisseur of the automotive world, ‘Perla Nera®’ embodies a bold and instantly recognisable character, both in its exterior design and interior environment. The result of a continuous dialogue between the customer and the Alfa Romeo Centro Stile.
And so, a completely black 33 Stradale was born. The only example in the ultra-limited series of the supercar, in which matte-finish carbon fibre is not merely a technical material but becomes an integral part of the vehicle’s design language. This is evident in the distinctive arrangement of the carbon fibres, which interact with the model’s flowing Alfa Romeo lines, enhancing its symmetry and volumes while accentuating the dynamism of its design and the muscularity of its curves. On the front bonnet, the carbon fibre highlights the characteristic V-shaped motif, while a herringbone pattern becomes a recurring graphic element that guides the eye from front to rear across the roofline. The result is a perfect synergy between the iconic design of the 33 Stradale and the material and graphic qualities of carbon fibre.
Achieving this striking effect required a dedicated production process capable of combining technological innovation with Italian craftsmanship. The carbon fibre was laid by hand within the mould, with each fibre positioned with extreme precision to follow the contours of the surfaces and enhance their shapes and volumes. The same meticulous attention was applied throughout every subsequent stage, from rigorous quality inspections to final assembly. The design of the carbon-fibre layup and all related technical aspects were shared step by step with the owner, following a truly bespoke approach.
Completing the monochromatic appearance are two unique features of the 33 Stradale ‘Perla Nera®’: exclusive all-black wheels and the absence of external badges, with the sole exception of the Alfa Romeo brand emblems, preserving the continuity of the surfaces and allowing the carbon-fibre weave to take centre stage.
The same stylistic coherence and pursuit of exclusivity continue inside, where the combination of carbon-fibre elements and full Alcantara upholstery creates a sophisticated, immersive environment defined by subtle tone-on-tone contrasts. Every detail was developed according to the owner’s aesthetic preferences, as demonstrated by the bespoke sports seat, which underwent an extensive and highly detailed redesign to meet specific comfort and performance requirements. The seat was conceived and developed around the owner’s physique through dedicated fitting sessions and consultations.
This tailor-made development extended beyond ergonomic and dimensional considerations to include a reinterpretation of the Alfa Romeo signature ‘cannelloni’ seat pattern, subsequently echoed on the door panels and side sills to ensure stylistic consistency throughout the interior. Likewise, the headrest was redesigned to optimise the contact surface and integrate a carbon-fibre insert bearing the ‘Perla Nera®’ name, a designation that recurs in several interior details. It appears on the door panel, engraved on a dedicated plaque featuring Alfa Romeo lettering and inside the storage compartment, relocated to the rear wall and supported by a purpose-designed bracket.
The luggage set, in black Alcantara, also features the vehicle’s production number, while the Alfa rotary selector has been personalised with the owner’s initials. Completing the creation, the legendary Quadrifoglio and Autodelta symbols, revealed only once inside the vehicle, discreetly underscore the most authentic connection to the brand’s racing heritage.
Beneath the bonnet lies a powerful 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing over 630 hp, paired with an eight-speed DCT gearbox and rear-wheel drive, enabling a top speed of 333 km/h (207mph) and acceleration from zero to 62mph in under three seconds. The H-frame aluminium chassis and carbon-fibre monocoque ensure exceptional lightness and rigidity, placing technology at the service of the performance and driving pleasure that have always defined Alfa Romeo.
At the technological heart of the 33 Stradale, carbon fibre finds its highest aesthetic expression in ‘Perla Nera®’.
