From summer 2022, the Emira powered by AMG, the first new Lotus sports car engine, will make its debut in more than a decade. The novelty at Lotus AMG is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder "i4" from the Mercedes-Benz performance division. Working with Lotus for the first time, AMG has stepped on board as the technical partner of the Emira program and made some fundamental changes to the inline four-cylinder set-up for its Lotus debut. Installed transversely and with rear-wheel drive, the unit has been adapted to the character of the Emira with a new air inlet system and a new exhaust. The second engine is better known, the supercharged 3.5-liter Toyota V6 that is so loved by Exige and Evora drivers. Vehicles will be available with manual, automatic and dual clutch transmissions (DCTs).
Throughout the Emira range, power at launch will be between 360 and 400 hp, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 4.5 seconds and a top speed of up to 290 km / h. The maximum torque is 430 Nm and the CO2 emissions start below 180 g / km. The car in its lightest form has a target weight of 1,405 kg and prices start at less than £ 60,000 (less than € 72,000).
