The sporty imprint, the lines of the rear and the length of the hood of CUPRA Formentor highlight its sporty proportions. The 2.5 TSI engine a five-cylinder VZ5, with an output of 390 hp (287 kW) and 480 Nm of torque, is able to make the driving experience even more exciting.
CUPRA Formentor VZ5 offers technical and technological equipment as standard maximize performance. The 4Drive all-wheel drive allows you to send the drive torque to the rear wheels only when the dynamic needs of the vehicle require it. Making its debut on a CUPRA model, CUPRA The Formentor VZ5 also boasts dynamic torque sharing technology Torque Splitter which, thanks to the dedicated rear differential, allows the traction distribution on each side of the rear axle. This is gifted of two control units each of which operates a clutch capable of check the drive torque to be transmitted to each side of the rear axle of the vehicle.
The special rear differential with which it is equipped receives the torque sent by gearbox through the drive shaft. Thanks to the intervention of clutches mentioned above, can distribute the torque, if necessary, asymmetrically on each wheel of the axle. Thanks to this differential it is possible to exploit the grip of the tires rear optimally for each wheel, allowing driving extremely dynamic without compromising safety. In order to exploit Torque Splitter technology beyond all limits, CUPRA Formentor VZ5 integrates the Drift function (included within the Drive Profile) which allows the driver to enjoy a controlled oversteer experience to be used exclusively within closed circuits.
