The TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team celebrated its greatest success to date with a historic double victory at the Mexico City E-Prix on Saturday. At the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Pascal Wehrlein (GER) in the #94 Porsche 99X Electric clinched pole position for Porsche's first victory in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. His team-mate André Lotterer (GER) finished second in the number 36 car, thereby perfecting the triumph of the Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer in the third Formula E race of the season. In the team classification of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team improved to third place with the double victory in Mexico. In the drivers' standings, Pascal Wehrlein is third, André Lotterer fourth on equal points.

With the first pole position for Porsche this season, Pascal Wehrlein already set an exclamation point in qualifying. After initially leading the 2.606-kilometer course, which runs through the famous baseball stadium Foto Sol with its unique stadium atmosphere, he was third halfway through the distance. His teammate André Lotterer, who had started the race from third place, followed in fourth. The leading group was close together. But in the final phase, the perfect race strategy of the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E team and optimal energy management had an impact. Wehrlein first moved up to second place and shortly afterwards took the lead – followed by Lotterer, who had started the race from third place on the grid. At the finish, the two Porsche 99X Electric were almost ten seconds ahead of their pursuers.
