The new LMDh prototype from Porsche Penske Motorsport has passed its baptism of fire on the international stage. The vehicle has covered more than 2,000 kilometers on the Circuit de Catalunya near the Spanish metropolis of Barcelona in the past few days. The focus of the test drives was the coordination of the systems, the development of tires and the optimization of the interaction between the V8 turbo engine and the hybrid elements prescribed by the regulations. During the multi-day test, the new Porsche works drivers Felipe Nasr (Brazil) and Dane Cameron (USA) were among those behind the wheel of the approximately 500 kW (680 hp) powerful car.

Porsche will continue the development program with the new LMDh prototype in the coming months on various racetracks in Europe and North America . The vehicle will be homologated in autumn and will be used for the first time in a race in January 2023 at the 24 Hours of Daytona.
