The Pagani Huayra R is a car full of innovative solutions developed to achieve the highest performance and is the result of completely dedicated engineering know-how. A project not derived from any production model which has allowed to considerably raise the development targets for each single component. First of all, the development of the most powerful naturally-aspirated internal combustion engine in the history of the Atelier. The Pagani V12-R, this is the name of the beating heart of Huayra R, is an aspirated racing engine with twelve cylinders and 6 liters, specifically designed in collaboration with HWA AG starting from a blank sheet to meet the Atelier's need to equip the new born with the lightest, most powerful and efficient V12 track ever created. The new engine is capable of delivering 850 hp (625 kW) at 8250 rpm and a maximum torque of 750 Nm, already available from 5500 up to 8300 rpm, while the direct injection system at 200 bar ensures maximum efficiency in terms of thermodynamics and autonomy, to the advantage of performance.

Huayra R was created to offer the ultimate experience to those who want to experience maximum performance on the track up to the 9000 rpm red line. A goal that for the technicians of HWA AG and Pagani meant not only aiming at increasing power as a key element of research, but also putting lightness first. A challenge accepted without hesitation by the Affalterbach engineers and after more than two years of design and development, the balance tip stops the overall weight of the powerful Pagani V12-R at 198 kg, a value at the top of its category. Integral to the central monocoque, with which it forms a structural element capable of supporting the transmission system and the subframes in chromium-molybdenum steel alloy, the new engine stands out for its exceptional efficiency and ease of management, while maintaining intervals of revision every 10,000 km.
