At the Rome E-Prix, André Lotterer (GER/car number 36) and Pascal Wehrlein (GER/car number 94) secured further important points for the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team in the fight for the title. In the thrilling race 5 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, Lotterer finished fourth after a temporary lead on the Circuito Cittadino dell'EUR. Wehrlein was sixth.

In qualifying, André Lotterer made it to the semi-finals and started the race from third place on the 3.380-kilometre Formula E circuit. With his Porsche 99X Electric, he consistently stayed in the front group. Activating Attack Mode for eight minutes at a time in this race, he lost a position, but then fought his way up to second place. With just under twelve minutes on the clock, he took the lead with a spectacular overtaking manoeuvre. After that, he was in the lead for a long time, but lost his lead due to a safety car phase and had to let competitors pass after the restart. When the safety car went out again in the final phase, he was no longer able to attack the front-runners. His team-mate Pascal Wehrlein started from seventh place and after many tough battles for position behind the leading group finally finished sixth. In the drivers' standings of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, André Lotterer is sixth with 43 points after five of 16 races. Pascal Wehrlein follows with one point less than seventh. In the team classification, the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E team improved to second place with 85 points.
