The BMW M works drivers Timo Glock and Jens Klingmann (both GER) celebrated an almost perfect debut in the Italian GT Championship. In the first two races of the Sprint Cup season in Monza (ITA), the duo finished on the podium twice in the #50 BMW M4 GT3 fielded by Ceccato Racing. Driver and team celebrated victory in the first race, in the second it looked like a place at the top of the podium again, but Glock and Klingmann lost the lead in the pits after a safety car phase cost them the lead they had previously gained had. So it was enough for second place on Sunday.

Glock then drew an extremely positive conclusion: “I felt extremely comfortable in the BMW M4 GT3 from the very first meter. The vehicle suits my driving style very well. Compared to my races in the BMW M6 GT3, this weekend was a huge step in the right direction. Rarely have I laughed so much under my helmet for the sheer joy of racing as I did here in Monza. Saturday's race was a special challenge for me because it was the first time I drove the car in the rain. But Jens Klingmann had done a great job before that and I felt better and better with every lap. All in all a great start to the season. Compliments also to the team, which worked absolutely flawlessly.”
