The SP48 Unica, released at Centro Stile Ferrari under the direction of Chief Design Officer Flavio Manzoni, is a sporty berlinetta that created a part of the F8 tributes after birth. Its taut lines and aggressive stance make it immediately unmistakable, also thanks to the sharp and forward-leaning front end. In order to achieve this effect, the redesign of the headlights and the consequent repositioning of the brake air intake were central. One of the key points of the design of this unique car is the extensive use of parametric-procedural modeling and 3D prototyping (Additive Manufacturing) techniques used by the Ferrari Style Center designers and Maranello engineers to completely redesign it design. Think of the shape of the grille and the air intakes of the engine. The sense of continuity of the models and the richness of the finishes are also due to this advanced production process that has allowed the creation of perfect 3D grids from the entire volume.
The implemented procedural graphic solutions interact directly with the grilles and determine the overall design of the SP48 Unica: the transition from black to the body color that includes the windows, roof and hood is particularly noteworthy. The strong visor effect of the front is further emphasized by the reduction of the side window area and the elimination of the rear window, enhancing the musculature of the SP48 Unica, which appears as if sculpted in a single mouth. The plan shows the central part of the roof, which includes a graphic representation of the air intakes, which refer to the air intakes placed in the rear part of the engine compartment in carbon fiber, in front of the spoiler.
