Lotus has unveiled the all-new Emira GT4 race car at the legendary Hethel test track with a dynamic demonstration of its exhilarating performance. At an exclusive event, VIP guests were treated to passenger laps of the legendary 2.2-mile track with Gavan Kershaw, Lotus Director of Vehicle Attributes and former British GT Championship winner, at the wheel. The return to world motorsport is a key pillar of the company's transformation from a British sports car manufacturer to a global company and high-performance car brand.
The advanced composite body makes the car exceptionally light and is coupled with Toyota's race-bred 3.5-litre V6 engine and optimized GT4 aerodynamics derived from the road-going Emira's advanced exterior design. Since the announcement last September, the Hethel-based development team has focused on precision engineering to deliver outstanding dynamics and high-speed stability. Hundreds of hours of validation work were done on the test track, and over the winter the Emira GT4 also went to Portimão in Portugal for a week.
