With the aim of drastically reducing the local emissions of its vehicles, Peugeot has become one of the first manufacturers to offer an electric van with a hydrogen fuel cell as standard: the PEUGEOT e-EXPERT Hydrogen. With this new model, equipped with the most advanced electrification technologies, Peugeot continues to expand its range of zero-emission mobility offerings.
The fuel cell ensures fast charging, which opens up the possibility of emission-free intensive use that was not previously possible with other available technologies: just three minutes is enough to store the hydrogen needed to travel several hundred kilometers in all-electric mode . This is an element that will attract entirely new users to electric vehicles.
The fuel cell is combined with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 10.5 kWh and an output of 90 kW. It is located under the seats and also powers the electric motor during some driving phases. An on-board three-phase 11 kW charger, located in the engine compartment, is used for power supply. "Mid-power plug-in hydrogen fuel cell electric": the innovative system that combines both energy sources. These two sources of energy work together to drive a permanent magnet electric motor with an output of 100 kW and 260 Nm of torque. Located on the front axle, this electric powertrain is similar to that of the Peugeot Expert (battery electric model).
