Nissan's unique e-POWER technology will help Qashqai redefine bold innovation in the crossover segment originally invented in 2007. The new Qashqai is the first model in Europe to be equipped with Nissan's e‑POWER drive system. Exclusive to Nissan and a key component in the company's electrification strategy, e-POWER offers a responsive, efficient and quiet powertrain.
The e-POWER system consists of a high-capacity battery complemented by a 156 hp 1.5-litre three-cylinder variable compression ratio turbocharged petrol engine, a power generator, an inverter and a 140 kW electric motor of similar size and power as in Nissan electric vehicles. The petrol engine generates electricity, which can be transferred via the inverter to the battery pack, the electric motor or both, depending on the driving scenario.
