The London E-Prix, the penultimate event of Season 8 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, kicked off with the first race at the famous Excel Center. It presents a unique challenge for teams and drivers with an indoor/outdoor track. The green flag was waved at the Excel center, the DS TECHEETAH drivers both got off to a good start and avoided several accidents on the track.
Antonio Felix Da Costa, at the wheel of his DS E-TENSE FE21, held his position and passed several cars, staying out of trouble and finishing the 45min+1lap race in 7th place. Jean-Éric Vergne started 13th on the grid and had an eventful race in which he was involved in several accidents and finished 14th. Thanks to Antonio Felix Da Costa's 6 points, DS TECHEETAH moved up to second place in the team championship with 234 points. The Portuguese is now 5th overall and JEV retains his 4th place.
