Both MOTUL BMW M8 GTE on the GTLM podium at Watkins Glen - Turner Motorsport wins in the GTD class.

In the third race of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, three BMW vehicles made it onto the podium. In the GTLM class, John Edwards (USA), Jesse Krohn (FIN) and Augusto Farfus (BRA) finished second in the # 24 MOTUL BMW M8 GTE at the “Six Hours of the Glen” in Watkins Glen (USA) the finish line. Behind them, their BMW Team RLL driver colleagues Connor De Phillippi (USA), Bruno Spengler (CAN) and Philipp Eng (AUT) finished third in the sister vehicle.
Turner Motorsport celebrated victory in the GTD class. Bill Auberlen, Robby Foley (both USA) and Aidan Read (AUS) triumphed in the number 96 BMW M6 GT3.
Around an hour before the end of the race, a caution phase brought the entire field back together and ensured an exciting final phase. In the GTLM class, both MOTUL BMW M8 GTE chased the leading Corvettes. Edwards pushed himself into second place with a brave overtaking maneuver and brought it to the finish line behind the victorious # 3 Corvette. Shortly before the end, De Phillippi beat the second Corvette and also finished on the podium in third.
Turner Motorsport got onto the road to victory with a perfectly timed final pit stop. Shortly after Auberlen took over the wheel, the last caution phase occurred, which pushed the # 96 BMW M6 GT3 to the top of the GTD field. Auberlen first expanded this lead and then defended it confidently to the finish. With the win, Auberlen and Foley maintained their overall lead in the GTD class of the IMSA series.
