A completely new track awaits drivers and teams in Cape Town – just two weeks after the race in Hyderabad. Pascal Wehrlein and António Félix da Costa from the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team showed in India that they can handle such challenges well: the German extended his lead in the drivers' standings, his Portuguese team-mate clinched his first podium for Porsche. In the team classification, the team from Weissach took the top spot for the first time in its fourth Formula E season.

The Porsche customer team Avalanche Andretti will also be at the start in Cape Town with two Porsche 99X Electric. The racing team of US motorsport icon Michael Andretti is in second place in the team classification behind the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E team. Jake Dennis (GBR), second in the drivers' standings, and André Lotterer (GER) will be the drivers.
