The design of the new Audi RS 3 in the front section, the sporty RS bumper, the single frame with honeycomb grille and the generous air intakes characterize the look of both the Sedan and the hatchback. Standard equipment includes full LED headlamps with dynamic rear direction indicators. The latter are also available in conjunction with the Audi Matrix LED headlights, on request, with burnished inserts. The rear lights are also LED. The specific light signature, entrusted to the lower section of the front light clusters, makes use of 3 x 5 light segments. The Coming home & Leaving home functions create a fascinating scenography: a checkered flag on the left side and the RS 3 writing on the driver's side. Behind the front wheel arches there are slits for the outflow of air, a novelty, while the side skirts are redesigned and embellished with black inserts. Both models can count on a wider footprint than the previous model: 33 mm at the front and, in the case of the Audi RS 3 Sportback, 10 mm at the rear. The 19-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels with 10-Y-spoke design are available as standard. The optional 5-Y-spoke wheels with the RS logo, derived from racing, like the semi-slick Pirelli P Zero Trofeo tires, stand out. R.

The 5-cylinder turbo engine is unique among compact saloons. The 2.5 TFSI delivers a maximum torque of 500 Nm, compared to the previous 480 Nm, in a wide range: from 2,250 to 5,600 rpm. A new control unit ensures superior reactivity to accelerator pressures. The maximum power of 400 hp is now available from 5,600 rpm, instead of 5,850 rpm as in the past. The compact high, thus sprints from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds: a time less than 3 tenths of a second compared to the previous model, to which the launch control function contributes. Audi RS 3 Sportback and Audi RS 3 Sedan reach a top speed, self-limited, of 250 km / h, which can be increased on request to 280 km / h or, opting for the Dynamic RS package and carbon ceramic brakes, to 290 km / h.
