Honda is equipping the new HR-V, which will be launched in Europe at the end of the year, with the advanced e: HEV hybrid drive as standard. The new generation of the compact SUV is the third model of the brand to feature hybrid technology. The e: HEV drive in the new HR-V delivers a total output of 96 kW (131 PS) and a torque of 253 Nm. Regardless of whether in city traffic or on the motorway, the driver always has a pleasant and comfortable driving experience. The efficient hybrid system enables fuel consumption of 5.4 l / 100 km (WLTP) with CO2 emissions of 122 g / km (WLTP). The HR-V accelerates powerfully from standstill to 100 km / h in 10.6 seconds.

The e: HEV hybrid drive offers a unique driving experience that impresses with the combination of strong performance and high efficiency. The system consists of two compact electric motors, a 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine with Atkinson cycle, a lithium-ion battery and an innovative direct drive with an intelligent control unit. When driving at a higher and more constant speed, for example on the motorway, the petrol engine is predominantly used. If, for example, acceleration is required when overtaking, the HR-V switches to hybrid drive and thus offers an additional boost in performance. In addition, in this mode, the power of the generator driven by the gasoline engine can be used to charge the battery, which further improves efficiency. The "Sport" mode, which is activated via the drive control, enables even better responsiveness, while in the "Econ" the air conditioning and throttle response are adjusted so that the focus is on fuel efficiency. In addition to "Normal", here the drive is optimally balanced between performance and economy, the driver can also switch between the drive modes manually using a toggle switch.
