Alfa Romeo celebrates 111 years of its history.
24-06-2021 19:44 - EVENTS
When A.L.F.A. was born on June 24, 1910, the cars were red. A few years earlier, in fact, Italy had been assigned this color for racing cars. Since then, red has become an integral part of Alfa Romeo's DNA. And today, on the day of the 111th anniversary of the brand, the Museum is ideally tinged with red to welcome the many fans who, like every year, will come to Arese to celebrate. Rossa is the Alfa Romeo parade of private individuals which at 10 this morning opened a four-day event that will continue until June 27th. Red is the dress code for visitors, as well as the masks distributed for free at the entrance, to experience these special days in safety. Rosso is a special temporary exhibition inside the Museum, which until Sunday will tell the infinite nuances and interpretations of this color, exhibiting in a suggestive roundup examples of different periods and characteristics: from the cars painted by hand with the brush on the race field up to the technological paints of recent years, from the orange tones of the Italian red to the dark tones of the Proteo red, in addition of course to the Rosso Alfa, coded with the initials AR 501.
Every day until Sunday 27 June, there will be several parades open to all Alfa Romeos, of any age, model and color: participation is free and included in the ticket to the Museum, but it is necessary to register at the email address info @ museoalfaromeo. com.
At the Museum it will also be possible to experience live the approach path to the Austrian GP with free practice, qualifying and the race broadcast live on the large screen in the Giulia room. Friday 25th there will be an exclusive moment, with limited places, during which guests, in connection with the Spielberg circuit, will be able to chat in streaming with the team's drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi, discovering the secrets of the paddock and the garage through a virtual tour. In addition, the Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen single-seater show car will be on display throughout the period, which, for the occasion, will proudly display the logo created to celebrate the 111th anniversary of the brand.
Thanks to the support of the Centro Stile, a logo has been created that pays homage to the 111-year history of the brand. A logo that finds inspiration in the iconic elements present within the logo itself: the "Biscione" of the noble Milanese Visconti family and the cross, the symbol of Milan. Here then is that the cross transforms and generates a sequence of numbers 1 that propagate along a perspective line as if to suggest the passage of time that comes from the past, giving dynamism to the number 111. This logo will be used on the occasion of the Formula 1 GP in Austria and will replace the classic logo for the occasion.
Over the weekend there will be two in-depth conferences on the history of the brand: on Saturday 26th the first A.L.F.A. (Modena, 1911, Regularity Competition), Sunday 27 of the prototype of the 4C, designed by the Alfa Romeo Style Center in 2011. Every day it will also be possible to book a guided tour of the "behind the scenes" of the Museum, consisting of two floors of the deposits in which "treasures" not normally displayed to the public. There are also activities for groups and families: from the creative workshop for children scheduled for Saturday 26 at 3 pm, to the Treasure Hunt on Sunday 27 June at 4.30 pm. The complete program can be consulted on the museoalfaromeo.com website and all activities are included in the entrance ticket. It is necessary to book by writing to info@museoalfaromeo.com.
