In round eleven of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland, Dylan Pereira (IronForce Racing by Phoenix) clinched his third win of the current championship. At the Lausitzring, the Luxembourger won an action-packed wet race in the closing minutes on Saturday. “After a weak start for me, I no longer expected a win. But I knew that I had to stay calm under these difficult conditions and that paid off in the end,” says Pereira. Dutchman Rudy van Buren (Huber Racing) finished second and celebrated his first podium finish this season.
Ten Voorde finished second, but subsequently received a 30-second time penalty for causing the collision with Heinrich. As a result, the 25-year-old was classified as 23rd. Second, van Buren secured his first top 3 result of the season. "What a race. The wet and slippery track was challenging, but I like driving in the rain,” says van Buren. His Huber Racing team had another reason to celebrate. The race at the Lausitzring was the 100th Carrera Cup race for Christoph Huber's team – a milestone for the team from Neuburg am Inn in Bavaria. A total of 30 different drivers have been used for the team founded in 2016 in the one-make cup. Huber Racing's biggest success so far in the 2020 season was Larry ten Voorde's overall victory.
Hartog received the trophy for third place. The places behind the Dutchman on the race track in southern Brandenburg were taken by Daan van Kuijk (Netherlands/GP Elite), Jukka Honkavuori (Finland/ID Racing) and Bastian Buus (Denmark/Allied Racing). Schuring came in seventh. Huub van Eijndhoven (Netherlands/GP Elite) was the best rookie in eighth place. Heinrich finished the race in ninth place. “I started the race from seventh position, but was able to catch up with the leading group early on and even took the lead shortly before the end. Unfortunately, just before the finish, I got into a collision through no fault of my own,” summarizes Heinrich. After eleven rounds, the Würzburg driver is still the leader in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. With 202 points, Heinrich leads ahead of ten Voorde (172 points) and Pereira (165 points).
