On 29 June the Stellantis group presented to the press the new generation of the Ducato, the flagship model of the Fiat Professional brand, now known by professionals, who have been working in various fields for forty years and in various combinations, both as a basic model, with roof medium and with raised roof, clearly as an ambulance or as a camper, but it is also used as a sales van in various markets around the world and with 150,000 units sold in 2020 alone in Europe, the best-selling in its category on a continental level .
So the Ducato, a worthy workmate of many professionals, is renewed and does so with a layout updated to the times in its renewed identity as "Fiat Professional Ducato Generation 2021". The interesting thing is that even for the new generation, the Stellantis group has decided to combine the well-known endothermic engine models with a 100% electric model, which had joined the previous generation a few months ago.
Looking at its front, you can see projectors with new design and Full Led technology. The headlights are divided into three parts, with the lower part dedicated to the led light guide. The three groups in addition to having a technological look, provide 30% more light than classic halogen headlights. In the upper part there is an integrated direction indicator, with a sliding LED light, an effect used for the first time in a commercial vehicle.
The large grille has also been renewed, with new skiplates, which surround the new FIAT brand logo. The customer can choose a brand new color, Lanzarote Gray, especially for those who buy it for free time.
The new technology dedicated to the cabin is revolutionary, such as the Keyless Entry and Go to open and close all the doors and start the engine without a key, a very convenient novelty is the electric parking brake, which will facilitate work for those who are often involved in deliveries. having to operate it many times a day. Among the many technological innovations to enrich this new ganna are a high voltage 230V socket and automatic climate control.
The range is completed by the offer of engines, developed according to the Euro 6D-Final regulations, a range also completed with Heavy Duty approval. The new Multijet3 diesel engines are based on the new H3 Power architecture, developed by Stellantis for Fiat Professional. With the "High Durability" formula, the engines have a degree of reliability up to 300,000 km, plus the "High Comfort" formula guarantees greater flexibility and less noise than previous engines.
The customer can choose between the 120, 140, 160 or 180 horsepower engines with the 6-speed manual gearbox or alternatively with the nine-speed "9speed" automatic gearbox, not available only for the 120 horsepower version. For the 120 and 140 horsepower versions, the 6-speed gearbox is completely new. The Heavy Duty range is available in the three highest power levels, with manual or automatic gearbox.
The traditional power steering has been replaced with an electrically assisted driving capable of self-regulating, facilitating parking operations, while the traditional "all-froward" architecture continues to guarantee the best load capacity and the best turning radius in the category, therefore greater comfort for passengers and greater ease of loading and unloading thanks to the self-leveling air suspension and the adjustable loading threshold.
