The new car has very few aerodynamic appendages, but it is more efficient than ever. While some hypercars are equipped with a large number of additional elements, Utopia incorporates their function in its form overall, achieving, thanks solely to its design, greater downforce and less resistance aerodynamics. The stylistic details are few, but each of them is so accurate that it can be admired in and of itself: technologically advanced, their shape is inspired by objects from the 1950s such as the tapered headlights of the Vespa scooters or the outfitting of Riva motorboats. The forged wheels are equipped with a carbon fiber extractor turbine-shaped that moves hot air away from the brakes and reduces turbulence under the bodywork. Mounted on discs carbon-ceramic, the brake calipers have a new lightweight design. The role of Pirelli tires is to effectively transfer the exuberant torque to the ground and give the final touch to the exceptional feeling of contact with the road. Their unusual size - 21 inches for the front and 22 for the rear - triggered a new creativity and a peculiar freedom in the design that can be seen in the lateral lines of the bodywork that wraps around the wheels. And on their shoulder the silhouette of Utopia appears stylized, to demonstrate how these tires were created especially for you. The side mirrors, as if suspended in mid-air thanks to the wing profile support, are spaced from the bodywork for improved aerodynamics, revealing the meticulous optimization achieved in the wind tunnel. The lights hindquarters float at the flanks of the movable wings and are as if embedded in the air extractors - each component taken individually, it could be displayed in a jewelry shop window. The four titanium exhaust pipes, a distinctive feature of the Modenese atelier, are still present. Equipped with a ceramic coating to dissipate heat efficiently, the complete exhaust system reaches a weight of just over 6 kilograms.
Pagani's V12 engine, a 6-liter twin-turbo produced exclusively by Mercedes-AMG, is the result of enormous work of development: it delivers a power of 864 HP and above all a prodigious torque of 1100 Nm. It turns higher, it is more flexible and more powerful despite complying with the strictest emissions regulations, including those in force in California. The choice of transmission was philosophical: it is not a double clutch transmission, which would be efficient but heavy and would deprive the driver of the ability to set the acceleration rate of the car. Pagani is instead aimed at Xtrac, the most prestigious manufacturer of transmissions for motorsport and high performance cars, for develop the fastest possible helical gearbox. It is compact, light and transversely mounted to have an optimized center of gravity. In addition, a gearbox has been created to best satisfy the desires of Pagani enthusiasts, his aficionados traditional seven-speed manual - as a dummy manual gearbox would not have been acceptable. Has not been simple to design such a gearbox, with synchronizers and mechanism suitable for a pure application manual still able to handle a torque of 1100 Nm, but it was an essential feature for Utopia. As intelligent as automatic transmissions may have become, nothing can replace mastery of gear changes by the driver: the prevailing logic is his alone, each change is unique and depends solely by his decision and his common sense, by the exact combination of conditions, by the nature of the street and the mood of the moment.
