The Porsche customer team KCMG finished this year's 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in seventh place. Works driver Laurens Vanthoor from Belgium, together with Brit Nick Tandy and Norwegian Dennis Olsen, caused a sensation with an exciting race to catch up: After a problem in qualifying, the trio had to start the Belgian long-distance classic from the 65th and last grid position. Around 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, after a little more than 14 hours of racing, the three of them were even able to take the lead with the 368 kW (500 hp) 911 GT3 R. Ten hours later, Vanthoor, Tandy and Olsen were 1:13.409 minutes behind the victorious Akkodis ASP Mercedes-AMG.

As the second-best Porsche, the 911 GT3 R from EMA Motorsport finished in 22nd place. Factory drivers Matt Campbell from Australia, Mathieu Jaminet from France and Felipe Nasr from Brazil were initially thrown back by a puncture after a good six hours of racing. At around two o'clock in the morning, thanks to a flawless drive, they were able to benefit from a caution phase and return to the top group. However, their hopes of a top position ended when they were hit by an opponent after three quarters of the race distance. Due to the necessary stop for repairs, they lost six laps to the leaders.
